Knocking the egg loose and collecting it are two parts of the rescue, so do not leave the released egg behind while looking for another stealer.

Keep your attention on what changed after contact. Before the hit, the egg is being carried by the target. After the hit, the egg itself is the object you need to reach. Finish the rescue instead of starting another chase
