Save an Egg: How to Catch Egg Stealers
Catch the carrier first
- Choose the target: Find a stealer visibly carrying a stolen egg.
- Land the rescue hit: Slide into the carrier, then follow the released egg for pickup.
Aim the slide at an egg-carrying stealer
To catch egg stealers in Save an Egg, look for a carrier with an egg and slide into it. The rescue hit knocks the egg loose. That target matters: running into another player is the competitive Credits interaction, while a dropped egg needs pickup rather than another attack on the original carrier.
The official controls tell PC players to hold Click and steer with WASD. Phone players hold SLIDE and steer with the stick. Use the movement input to meet the carrier instead of thinking of sliding as a separate button press that aims itself. The goal of this part is the released egg, which is your cue to move on.
Know when to train and when to follow the egg
If the carrier keeps escaping before you can reach it, train speed. The game explicitly connects speed training with catching faster stealers. If you are already beside the target, another training detour may not address your actual mistake; concentrate on steering the slide into the carrier.
Once the egg is loose, switch your attention to it. Slide over dropped eggs to scoop them up, then use the golden-ring flip and bring the rescued egg home. Continuing to chase the goblin after the release can distract you from the collectible you came for. The dropped-egg guide covers that transition in more detail.
For early practice, make the complete rescue your aim rather than a succession of hits. You want to finish at the plot with an egg ready to hatch. A successful approach is useful because it starts that trip. After you can reach a carrier reliably, practice Perfect Rescues so the timing action gets the same attention as the initial chase.
