How to Play Save an Egg: Rescues, Pets and Speed
How the game fits together
- Rescue and hatch: Stealers carry eggs; sliding releases them, and returning them to your plot leads to pets.
- Choose a goal: Pets provide money, speed helps faster chases, and the Index gives collection goals.
Follow the chase, rescue and hatch loop
Save an Egg combines a movement challenge with a pet collection game. The moving target is an egg stealer. Slide into the carrier to knock an egg loose, slide over the dropped egg, and time a flip through the golden ring for a Perfect Rescue. The trip continues to your plot, where the rescued egg becomes a pet.
This explains why an unfinished chase does not feel like much progress. You are working toward a pet at home, rather than simply making contact with a target. If you are new, follow the beginner rescue route before worrying about the whole pet collection.
Pick between income, exploration and collection
Hatched pets earn money. Speed training helps you catch faster stealers, while new biomes bring new chases. Those systems offer different next steps: complete another rescue for your plot, work on speed for a tougher pursuit, or look for a missing pet in the Index. Choose the one that matches what you want to accomplish this session.
The Forest Index contains seven named pets, including Leaf Dog, Leaf Fox, Golden Stag and Bear Guardian. Collection completion is a useful goal alongside earnings. A pet that fills a missing Index entry can matter even when you already own a pet you like using for money. The Forest pet list keeps that question separate from income comparisons.
Rival players add a competitive layer. Sliding into another player can take credits, and rivals can do the same to you. Decide whether you want that contest before abandoning a rescue for it. The Credits guide explains the difference between taking credits from a rival and building income through pets. Neither choice replaces bringing eggs back to the plot.
